What we collect
NordicExpat uses Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (page views, country of origin, device type). This data is anonymised, does not identify individual users, and sets no cookies.
We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure sessions and page engagement. For visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics runs with consent mode set to denied: no analytics cookie is stored on your device and only cookieless, aggregated pings are sent. Google Signals and advertising features are switched off everywhere. Google's handling of this data is described in its privacy policy.
If you email us at 31nathbikram@gmail.com, we store your email address and message content solely to respond to your enquiry.
Storage on your device
Besides any third-party cookies described below, this site stores three small values on your device. None of them contains a name, an email address, an IP address or anything that identifies you, and none is used for advertising or shared with anyone.
- ne_attr_v1 (session storage — erased when you close the tab): records only which kind of source you arrived from, such as “a search engine” or “an in-app browser”, so we can tell which sources lead people to our partner links.
- ne_visit_sent_v1 (session storage — erased when you close the tab): a single yes/no flag so one visit is counted once rather than on every page.
- dk-setup-tracker-v1 (local storage — kept until you clear it): remembers which items you have ticked off on the Denmark setup checklist. This one never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
These are set without asking you first. You can remove them at any time by clearing site data for nordicexpat.com in your browser, and the site will keep working normally without them.
Third-party services
Some links on this site are affiliate links (for example to Wise, and to eSIM, travel or relocation services where marked). These services have their own privacy policies. Clicking an affiliate link may set a cookie on the third-party site — this is governed by their policies, not ours. Travel and eSIM links are attributed through Travelpayouts, whose script loads on the site and may set a first-party cookie to credit a booking to NordicExpat; it is described in the Travelpayouts privacy policy. Sponsored content, where it exists, is labelled as such on the page.
